Strength for the race

Walk in my shade

Cool down in the quiet of my shelter

Run in my light

My provision and protection

Are always there

Green pastures and living waters

Beside you and in you

Drink from my well

Eat from my loaf

In me you will find

Courage for your call

And strength for your race

Walk on water

The crumbled down old ruins

Lay alongside the foundations of the new

The new and not yet come

The dizzy heights of fear and trepidation

Brought low and levelled to the ground by faith

There is no other foundation stone to build upon

No other course to take

No other house that can stand

Other than

To trust and obey

To step out

And walk on water

Ever Increasing

Love reached out

Over the vastest ocean

Swept me away

With eternal currents

They wash over me

Pull me in when I’m adrift

Cast me out when I’m afloat

Never suck me down

Always lift me

Higher and higher

Till I’m ready

For full tide

Where the brightest moon shines

And His glory never fades

Red tape

Running around

From pillar to post

Lost and found

In bureaucratic circles

The red tape

Is wrapped around my head

Like a nightmare

Driving me crazy

Stopping mid flow

I ask the question

Do I qualify?

Yes

I say to myself

Then peace settles over me

As I meander through the madness

Until the job is done

One thing I ask

You’re the best thing I have

There’s no one greater

No one filled with more love and truth

Your grace holds me together

Healed me from the start

Adopted and chose me

To be Your very own

You’ll never forsake me or turn away

You are my Saviour

My salvation is in Your hand

You come quickly to help me

One thing I ask

This one thing I seek after

O my God

Do not be far from me

My life of faith

I stand in grace

Waiting for it to finish it’s work

While His work for me is finished

His work through me

Is now and yet to come

So I still my heart before Him

Reflect on who He is

And all that He has done

To hear His word and know His voice

To find courage and confidence

To finish the race marked out for me

Knowing that He was with me

From the starting block

And waits patiently for me

To cross the finishing line

Lost soul

Like a forgotten song

And a life no longer remembered

Is the one outside the love of God

Where mercies are offered but not tasted

When grace is held out and not received

The greatest sadness

A lost soul

Forgotten

Surely they are worth fighting for
